導演（張藝謀）：這紅色會不會太單調？
攝影師（杜可風）：角色當下是甚麼情緒？
武術指導（程小東）：張曼玉瘋了，拼命的打。
攝影師：一看就知，瘋得想吃人。
導演：那她怎樣死？
武術指導：她給章子怡一劍擊倒。
導演：用甚麼光？
攝影師：要是光線跟她一起「消逝」呢？
導演：看上去會怎樣？
武術指導：緩慢而痛苦吧。
導演：好，就用「緩慢而痛苦的光」，管這是啥意思。我只關心紅色別太單調。
Director (Zhang): Is the red too flat?
Cameraman (Du): What’s the character feeling?
Marital Arts Director (Dong): Maggie’s mad. Fighting mad.
Cameraman: That’s pretty obvious. She’s looking dangerously mad.
Director: So how will she die?
Martial Arts Director: Zi Yi’s sword cuts her and she falls down.
Director: In what light?
Cameraman: What if the light dies with her?
Director: What will that look like?
Martial Arts Director: Slow and painful, I hope.
Director: Fine. We’ll go for ‘slow and painful light', whatever the hell that means. All I really care about is that the red is not too flat.
